Coach Heather received a
B.S. in Criminal Justice from California State University,
Bakersfield (1995). A competitive swimmer since age 7, Heather has
attended and run many swim camps, taught swim lessons to all ages
and levels and coached High School swimmers. She recently
completed training at the World ASCA Clinic in Florida and
throughout the years has had the opportunity to receive training
from some outstanding coaches. Swimming and competing in Triathlons
since college helped Heather hone her skills and keep her interest
in swimming.

Life"
Coach Mara started swimming competitively at the
age of four and continued swimming through high school, competing
for NCA. While in high school she achieved SCS Senior Time Standard
in the 100 yard Backstroke. Since the age of 15 Mara has taught all
levels and age groups of swimmers - from "Mommy and Me" to high
school swimming to adult lessons. She currently coaches JV
Girls Swimming for the Paso Robles High Bearcats as well as
coaching at NCA. Mara previously was an assistant coach at NCA
(1995-1998). She recently completed ASCA Level 2 Coach Recognition
after attending the 2009 World ASCA Clinic.
Mara
believes swimming is for all ages and abilities. "Swim for
Life" is her motto and she strives to instill a love of swimming in
each of her swimmers as swimming is a sport one can do for his or
her entire life. In 1997 she fulfilled a dream to swim the Catalina
Channel, 26 miles of shark infested water. She is currently
on track to attempt the English Channel in 2011.
