"Swim for Life"

Coach Mara started swimming competitively at the age of four and continued swimming through high school, competing for NCA. While in high school she achieved SCS Senior Time Standard in the 100 yard Backstroke. Since the age of 15 Mara has taught all levels and age groups of swimmers - from "Mommy and Me" to high school swimming to adult lessons.  She currently coaches JV Girls Swimming for the  Paso Robles High Bearcats as well as coaching at NCA. Mara previously was an assistant coach at NCA (1995-1998). She recently completed ASCA Level 2 Coach Recognition after attending the 2009 World ASCA Clinic.

In 1997 she fulfilled a dream to swim the Catalina Channel,  26 miles of shark infested water. She is currently on track to attempt the English Channel in 2011.
